This morning Paige requested eggs for breakfast. Of course I said we could have eggs. Then she said that SHE wanted to make them. She asked what the stove setting would have to be, and a slew of other questions. A flag went up in my head, and I told her, "You can't run the stove by yourself."
"Why not??" she asked.
"Because!" I said. "You are only seven years old, and you can't do that yourself. You need supervision."
She balked at that, and immediately said (matter-of-factly), "You don't have super vision."

Oh MY. Where did she come up with that? Kids are completely ingenuous!! Did she end up making them after all?
:) She DID end up making eggs. I thought it was so funny because I could tell by how she said it, as two words, that she thought I was talking about bionic eyes! Oh man, it was funny! But yes, she made her eggs, and she did a fine job. But I DID supervise. :D
