Who should I thank?

"It has seemed to me fit and proper that God should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my Fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November as a day of Thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens." Abraham Lincoln, October 1863

President Lincoln created our Thanksgiving holiday to be a day of giving thanks to our Father in heaven, the One True God. As you celebrate tomorrow, remember to whom you owe your praise and to whom should be given the glory. Thanksgiving isn't about the football teams that will be playing tomorrow or the amazing parade floats that will fill the sky, and it isn't about the 15 pound genetically altered turkey that we will consume. ☺ Thanksgiving is about thanking our Father for His sovereignty over our lives and for sending His Son to the cross to die for our sins. Praise be to Him!
