Today myself, my hubby Dave, our 3 girlies, Dave's parents Carl and Carrie, his sister Beth and her 4 boys, and Dave's brother Dan and his wife Marja all went to "A Taste of Minnesota" on Harriet Island in St. Paul. It was basically a fair with rides for the kids and fair food. I was expecting more "Minnesotan" foods to choose from, but it had a lot of your standard carnival goodies from Mini Donuts to Hot Dogs on a Stick. But the corn on the cob was De-Lish!
Here we are walking to the event.

Hunter (6) and Paige (7). Hunter seemed pretty excited about going to the fair...or maybe it was the stroller ride?

Here's where we were

Casey (4) had stopped to check out the view by the river and then realized he was getting behind.

Dave aka the best husband EVER! (agree to disagree if you like)

Paige and Emma (4) getting ready to ride the bumper cars.

Paige needed some aid from the carnival attendant to get the car moving correctly. But after he helped her she was driving really well.

Only one thumb up to the bumper cars, but I'll assume Emma's smile is a positive response.

Here we all are enjoying our "taste" of Minnesota. Abby did NOT want Uncle Dan to stop feeding her that wildberry gelato.

Beth and I giving the event two thumbs up! Yay for the corn on the cob!
It was a nice time with the family. Thanks to Dan and Marja for suggesting the idea. ☺ My only beef with the event was the price of the food and rides. $4 a person to ride the bumper cars?? I only have so many organs I can sell here, people. (I'm just kidding about selling organs, by the way. ☺)

Oh fun!!! I love the fair. They are much harder to find around here :D
Id have to agree on the lack of MN food. I saved my appetite just for the Taste of MN. Not saying I was let down by the carnival food though. Guess I'll have to get my fill at the State Fair :-) Prices were outrageous, I paid $5 for lemonade (half a lemon pressed into a cup, filled with ice, topped with water and shaken up).... $5... oooof
Nicki-I SAW that lemonade and really wanted one. ☺ But I passed. Yes, it was ridiculous how much they charged. I haven't been to the state fair since I was a preteen, and I'd like to go just to try all the food. Is it expensive?
What fun!!! :) I'm glad you are just kidding about the whole selling organs ... I was worried (joke).
